Keith Hills CC to Host 2nd Carolinian Amateur

 

The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) and Campbell University have announced that the 2^nd Carolinian Amateur will be conducted on May 19-21, 2017 at  Keith Hills Golf Club in Buies Creek, N.C.  The tournament is 54 holes of stroke play for male amateur golfers ages 16 and older who have a USGA handicap index of 7.4 or lower at a CGA member club.  Residency in the Carolinas is not required for this championship. The field will be reduced to the low 60 and ties after 36 holes.  The top 30 finishers will receive gift certificates to the Keith Hills GC golf shop.  The champion will receive an exemption into the 103rd Carolinas Amateur.

An expected field of 144 golfers will compete on the Ellis Maples designed Orange and Black nines that opened for play in 1974 and has hosted six CGA championships, including the Carolinas Junior (1991), N.C. Junior (1982), N.C. Senior (1998-1999), N.C. Four-Ball (2009) and N.C. Women’s Senior (2006) along with numerous USGA amateur qualifying tournaments.  Keith Hills GC is the home golf course for the men’s and women’s golf programs at Campbell University.  It is also the home facility for Campbell University’s PGA Golf Management Program that trains young men and women who will lead the golf industry for years to come.

ELIGIBILITY
Entry is open to any male amateur golfers 16 years of age or older who has a current USGA handicap index 7.4 or lower at a CGA member club.  There is no residency requirement.

REGISTRATION

Opens on March 5 (8 pm) and closes on May 9.

 

All play will be from approx. 6,700 yards, par 72. 

 

Championship field is limited to 144 players. 

 

Players will compete one division.

 

The top 30 finishers will receive gift certificates to the Keith Hills GC golf shop.
