US Mid-Amateur Sectional Qualfying Results from Starmount Forest Country Club
GREENBSORO, NC – Final results from U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship sectional qualifying hosted by Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro, NC on Monday, July 28, 2014 (6647 yards, par 35-36—71, Rating: 72.2/139).Five qualifying spots and two alternate positions are available at this qualifying site.
John Eades from Charlotte, NC shot a six-under 65 to earn medalist honors. Charlotte, NC native Matt Kilgo and Raleigh, NC native John Pitt both fired matching four-under par 67 to take the 2nd and 3rd qualifying spots. Chris Cassetta from Winston-Salem, NC earned the 4th spot with a three-under par round of 68. Four players played off for the last qualifying position with scores of one-under 70. Tom Nolan from Greensboro, NC won with fifth and final position on the fourth playoff hole with a birdie.
The United States Mid-Amateur Championship will be played September 6-11 at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
This qualifier is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
