Twice is Nice for Pridgen and Newton at the Super Senior Four-Ball Championship

GREENSBORO, NC – Final round results of the 2nd Super Senior Four-Ball Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Greensboro Country Club (Irving Park) in Greensboro, North Carolina on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 (5770 yards, par 37-34—71, 67.7/127).
 
Ernie Newton from High Point, NC and Jim Pridgen from Jamestown, NC shot an incredible score of eleven-under par 60 on Wednesday for a two-day total of 19-under par to successfully defend their 2012 Super Senior Four-Ball Championship title.

This is the second edition of the Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship and the second win as a team for Pridgen and Newton, both coming in this event. Pridgen missed a short birdie putt on 18 that would have lowered their second round total to 59, but they were happy with the five-shot victory. “We figured we would have to be 15 or 16-under to win, but to finish at 19-under is really special.” Newton said on the win and score.

First round leaders Chuck Wilkins and Rick Luzar, both from Pinehurst, NC, shot a second round total of five-under 66 to finish alone in second place at 14-under par.

The top 15 teams and ties receive merchandise and are exempt into the 2014 Carolinas Super Senior Four-Ball Championship.
