2 Teams Share Carolinas Four-Ball Lead
CAMDEN, S.C. – First round results of the 64th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship hosted by Camden Country Club in Camden, S.C. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 (6455 yards, par 35-35—70, 71.6/128).
Taylor Ingle of Winnsboro, S.C. - Brandon Truesdale of Winnsboro, S.C. and Zachary Martin of Pinehurst, N.C. - John Grimes of Pinehurst, N.C. each fired a six-under 64 to share a one stroke lead after the first round. Ingle carded an incredible front-nine 28 on his own ball.
Only half of the defending champion team is competing this year. Jonathan Jackson of Chapel Hill, N.C. has partnered with Banks Wood, Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. and posted an even par 70 to stand in a tie for 33rd place. Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, N.C. was unable to compete due to recovering from surgery this past winter.
The average score in round one was 70.3 with 32 teams breaking par on the challenging Donald Ross design.
The championship format is contested over 36-holes of four-ball stroke play to determine 32 qualifiers for match play.

The Carolinas Four-Ball Championship is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 13th birthday by the first day of the championship, is a resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active USGA Handicap Index® at a CGA member club.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)
The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.
Now in its 106th year, the CGA annually conducts 43 championships and five team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors. It also runs over 140 One-Day (net and gross) events and qualifying for USGA national championships. The CGF has distributed more than $1,500,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
