Bartolomucci and Goodman Advance to Semifinals at SC Junior Match Play Championship

   
Savanah Goodman of Easley, SC continued her good play advancing to the semifinals of the SC Junior Girls’ Match Play Championship at CC of Newberry in Newberry, SC.  Goodman, a rising high school senior, defeated Kiana Jones of Columbia, SC 8 and 7 and then advanced winning against Jensen Castle of West Columbia, SC.  Goodman will face off against Carly Lyvers of Greenville, SC in the first girls’ match at 8:30.  In the second semifinals match, Maddisen Cox of Easley, SC will play her younger sister Morgan.
 
In the boys’ championship, qualifying medalist Robert Bartolomucci of Hilton Head, SC advanced to the final four beating Bryan Edwards of Rock Hill, SC, 2 up, Alex Mahaffey of Greenville, SC, 3 and 2 and Brady Hinkle of Lexington, SC, 3 and 2.  Also advancing to the semifinals are Jake Smith of Duncan, SC and Ryan Marter of Columbia, SC.  Due to a late afternoon storm on Thursday, one match was not completed.  Bryce Miley of Lexington, SC and Nick Willis of Cowpens, SC will restart their match at 7:30 on Friday morning with the winner of that match meeting Bartolomucci in the semifinals.
 
The championship matches are scheduled to be started at approximately 12:30 and 12:40 on Friday afternoon.
 
This annual junior championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
