(January 2, 2019) – The Carolinas Golf Association’s 2019 championship season gets an early start with the 10th Carolinas Young Amateur to be held January 3-4, 2019 on the Magnolia Course at Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C. Lauren Stephenson is hands down one of the best amateur golfers, male or female, to come out of the Carolinas. In 2018, she was named the Golfweek Player of the Year, represented the U.S. on the Curtis Cup and Palmer Cup teams and won the Golfstat Cup as the nation’s leading scorer with a 69.76 average for the season.

The Carolinas Golf Association is saddened to learn the news of the passing of Lewis Dean Cassell. Cassell was inducted in the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame in 2016 alongside Johnny Harris.
