Unfortunately due to the over 7 inches of rain that continues to fall at River Landing over the past 3 days, the U.S. Mid-Amateur Sectional Qualifier has been rescheduled for Friday, August 8. Tee times will begin at 12:10pm off #1 tee on the Landing course.
 
Course is unplayable and will not have any chance to dry out enough on Monday or Tuesday (original rain date) to play. For those of you that had ... Read Post »

Update at 10:00am: Keeps raining so we are going to push back to 11:30am restart. 1:00pm Quarterfinals.

Update at 9:00am: storm cell just south of us still producing lightning within 10 miles. Course is wet and needs some time to "dry out" some before we can begin play. Restart pushed back to 10:30am. Quarterfinals at 12:00 noon.

Update at 8:20am: storms still lingering around the area but a window may be opening up for us. Shotgun restart delayed until 9:30am. Qtrs pushed back to 11:00am.

10th DOGWOOD STATE JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIP AT SAPONA RIDGE COUNTRY CLUB IN LEXINGTON, NC - AUGUST 5-7, 2014

WEST END, NC (8/1/14) -- The 10th Dogwood State Junior Championship will be held at Sapona Ridge Country Club in Lexington, NC on August 5-7, 2014.

35 junior girls and 89 exempt junior boys are entered into this year's Championship. The championship format is 54 holes of stroke play. Boys and girls will compete in divisions based on gender. Update at 2:07pm: We are going to play golf! Due to course conditions, we will play an 18-hole par 3 course today. Best we can do under the circumstances. Players meet at scoreboard at 3:00pm to receive instructions. Range and putting green is open. Please take a cart.

Update at 10:35am: Rain has returned to River Landing. We have moved the shotgun start back to 3:00pm. We hope to play the round of 32 today if at all possible. We will make a final decision regarding today's play by 1:30pm.
