Pinehurst, NC – Megan Moore of Bahama, NC became the first repeat winner of the Carolinas Young Amateur Championship.  Moore, a junior at UNC-Pembroke, finished with a two day total of even par 144 on the Gene Hamm designed Magnolia course at Pinewild CC in Pinehurst, NC to win the women’s division.  Katherine Perry of Cary, NC, the 2012 Carolinas Young Amateur champion, finished in second place with a two day total of 147.  Nicole Keyser of Cary, NC finished in third place at 152.

West End, NC—Sarah Bae of Cary and Carter Jenkins of Raleigh have been named the 2012 N.C. Junior Players of the Year by the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA) and the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA). Far Hills, NJ - The R&A and the United States Golf Association (USGA), golf’s governing bodies, announced proposed changes to the Rules of Golf that would prohibit anchoring the club in making a stroke.

The proposed Rule 14-1b, which follows an extensive review by The R&A and the USGA, would prohibit strokes made with the club or a hand gripping the club held directly against the player’s body, or with a forearm held against the body to establish an anchor point that indirectly anchors the club.
