Johnson will handle pre-tournament administration for men's and women's championships such as communicating with host club staff and tournament participants. She will also travel to provide on-site support at CGA championships as needed.

Defending champions Zachary Martin and John Grimes of Pinehurst, N.C. will not be in the field, but other past champions are represented. 2012 & 2014 champion Matthew Crenshaw of Burlington, N.C. will team with three-time CGA champion Banks Wood Jr. of Charlotte, N.C. The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced that the champion of the inaugural Carolinian Amateur will receive an exemption into the 102nd Carolinas Amateur at the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, S.C. on July 14-17, 2016.  The Carolinian Amateur will be played May 20-22, 2016 at Keith Hills Golf Club in Buies Creek, NC.  The Carolinian will also be used for Carolinas amateur rankings and has been added to the World Amateur Rankings 2016 calendar, but will be on probation in 2016 with inclusion in 2017.
