The United States Golf Association (USGA) today confirmed January 1, 2014 as the date for implementing the Condition of Competition for all USGA amateur championships and qualifying events that limits players to clubs manufactured with grooves and/or punch marks that conform to all aspects of the Rules of Golf, including those that were made effective on January 1, 2010. This Condition of Competition reads as follows:

"The player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications in the Rules of Golf that are effective from January...

River Hills CC (Lake Wylie SC) began their defense of the CGA Interclub Championship last Saturday by defeating the #1 team from River Run CC (Davidson NC) 28 to 8. River Hills has won this championship 3 times (2002, 2009, 2012).

First round action for the interclub playoffs will end this coming weekend with the 2nd and 3rd rounds played in October.

The final two teams will meet at the Sedgefield Country Club Dye course in Greensboro, NC on November 16 and 17, 2013.
