WEST END, NC - The Carolinas Golf Association has received many inquiries about our stance and plans to implement the recommended USGA’s “Grooves Rule” at CGA championships and tournaments in 2014. After lengthy discussions exploring both the positives and negatives of this rule, the CGA Executive Committee has decided NOT to implement the recommended “Grooves Rule” or condition of competition at any of our 2014 championships or tournaments.

Due to circumstances beyond the CGA’s control, the Senior Four-Ball One-Day Tournament and Carolinas Mid-Amateur Sectional Qualifier at the Members Club at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, SC on Monday, March 24 have been moved to The Reserve Golf Club in Pawleys Island. Events will still be held on March 24.

Austin Inman of Leland has played over 165 holes over the past eight days, but it was all worth it in winning the 46th NC Junior Boys’ Championship being conducted on the Highlands course at Prestonwood CC in Cary. Due to the slow melting of the snow, we have cancelled the Pinewild Junior Shoot Out for this coming Monday, February 17.

All entry fees will be refunded over the weekend.

We have been able to reschedule the event for the afternoon of Sunday, March 16th.

Registration for members of the TYGA Player’s Club will open on Monday night (Feb. 17th) at 8 pm and for all others on Feb. 25th.

Our system does not let us transfer an entry fee from one event to another, so you will have to re-register for the event.

West End, NC – The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced revised ranking systems that will be implemented beginning on February 1 for Men, Women, Senior Men and Senior Women in the Carolinas.

For Men and Senior Men, the revised system combines the Carolinas rankings system with the Carolinas Team point standings. Additional events have been added to the rankings calendar along with a revision of event multipliers and bonus points.
