Christopher Wooten-John Faidley Repeat at 13th Carolinas Pro-Junior

CARY, N.C. (August 13, 2018) -- The Carolinas Golf Association conducted the 13th Carolinas Pro-Junior at Prestonwood Country Club (Meadows) in Cary, N.C. on August 13, 2018.

It was overcast at Prestonwood Country Club for the 13th Carolinas Pro-Junior Championship, but the round was very bright for defending champions Christopher Wooten and John Faidley of Winston-Salem, N.C. The tandem started out hot with a birdie on their first hole and completed the outward nine in 4-under-par 32. On the back nine, the pair really caught fire. They recorded six birdies on the inward nine to finish at 10-under-par 62 and take home the Pro-Junior trophies once again.

Finishing tied for second at 7-under-par 65 was 2017 runners-up Steve Isley Jr. and Walker Isley of Oak Island, N.C. The pair played very well on the inward nine, finishing with a 5-under-par 31, but a slow start on the front kept them from catching their playing partners. Also tied for second at 65 was Nicole Adam of Pinehurst, N.C. and Donna Andrews of Southern Pines, N.C. Andrews, a 6-time LPGA champion and Nicole Adam, the recent Dogwood State Girls' Champion finished with eight birdies on the day.

Format: 18 holes of Pinehurst foursomes stroke play where both team members play from the teeing ground, switch golf balls of the second shot, then select one ball for the third shot and play alternate shot unit until the ball is holed. A team must then complete the hole with the ball selected.

Entry is open to any team comprised of a golf professional and a junior golfer 8-18 years of age as of August 13, 2018, who has not started college. The professional and the junior golfer must be legal residents of North or South Carolina. Golf Professional does not have to be a member of the Carolinas PGA.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)
