US Senior Amateur Sectional Qualifying Results from Duke University Golf Club
DURHAM, NC – Final results from U.S. Senior Amateur Championship sectional qualifying hosted by Duke University Golf Club in Durham, NC on Monday, August 18, 2014 (6585 yards, par 36-36—72, Rating: 71.8/134).
Four qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site. Gary Robinson of Fayetteville, NC, Rock Cloninger of Fort Mill, SC and Trip Boinest of Shelby, NC all fired three-under par 69 to share medalist honors and take three of the four available spots. Kelly Miller of Southern Pines, NC shot two-under par 70 and earned the final qualifying position by making a 25-foot putt for par on the third playoff hole.
The four qualifiers will advance to the U.S. Senior Amateur Championship that will be played September 13-18, 2014 at Big Canyon Country Club in Newport Beach, CA.
This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
