U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying Results
from Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (August 25, 2016) -- Final results from the U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Championship Qualifier hosted by Pine Island Country Club in Charlotte, N.C. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 (6,048 yards, Par 35-37--72).

Four qualifying spots and two alternate spots were available at this qualifying site.

Lea Venable of Simpsonville, S.C. took home medalist honors after firing at 2-over-par 74.  Brenda Corrie Kuehn of Asheville, N.C. (76), Caroline Ellington of New Bern, N.C. (78) and Noreen Mohler of Bethlehem, P.A. (78) also qualified for the championship.

Susan Beaupied of Pittsboro, N.C. and Sara Gerloff of Virginia Beach, V.A. are the alternates.

Sectional qualifying, conducted over 18 holes at 26 qualifying sites, started on Monday, August 8 and concluded with today's qualifier. Sectional qualifiers were held across the United States. The championship proper will be held at The Kahkwa Club in Erie, P.A. on September 10-15, 2016.
