Quarterfinals

Logan Sowell of Kershaw, S.C. played a nail-biter of a match against Brady Hinkle of Lancaster, S.C. in the quarterfinal round. Sowell was 2 up with three holes to play when Hinkle birdied both 16 and 17 to tie up the match. Sowell and Hinkle both parred No. 18 and went into extra holes in which Sowell ultimately sank a 20-foot-putt on the 19th hole to win the match.

Defending champion, Christian Salzer of Sumter, S.C. was the first person to advance into the semifinals with a 2 and 1 win over Zack Gordon of Gaffney, S.C.

Jack Parrott of Columbia, S.C. took down the last remaining low seed in match play, Zachary Herold of Lexington, S.C. also by a 2 and 1 finish.

The last player to advance into the finals was Zach Bishop of Travelers Rest, S.C. who finished 1 up over Grainger Howle of Darlington, S.C.

Semifinals

Logan Sowell of Kershaw, S.C. defeated Zach Bishop of Travelers Rest, S.C. in a 6 and 5 finish to advance into the finals in this event for the second year in a row. Sowell lost in the final match last year against Salzer, but he is looking to redeem himself with a win this year against Parrott.

“I think I learned a lot last year,” said Sowell. “I just have to keep playing my game, do what I do, and try to make some birdies. Hopefully I’ll putt as well as I did this afternoon.”

Jack Parrott of Columbia, S.C. took down Christian Salzer of Sumter, S.C. with a 4 and 3 win to punch his ticket to the championship match. Parrott made six birdies and an eagle in his 15 holes of play against Salzer.

Parrott and Sowell haven't played against each other much, tomorrow should be a great exhibition of golf.  “I didn't expect our matches to end that early. He [Sowell] ended on 13 also so I was like ‘wow he must be playing good’. I haven't really played much with him, but I know him and I am looking forward to playing with him,” said Parrott.

The final championship match will be held on Sunday, June 16, starting at 8:00am.
