U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying Results

LEXINGTON, S.C. (August 18, 2017) -- Final results from U.S. Women's Mid-Amateur Qualifying at Country Club of Lexington in Lexington, S.C. on August 18, 2017 (6019 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 76.1/143).

Eleanor Tucker of Savannah, G.A. earned medalist honors after posting a stellar round of even-par 72, which included a sub-par 35 on the outward nine. Lea Venable of Simpsonville, S.C. and Laura Coble of August, G.A. each carded a four-over-par 76 and proceeded to a playoff for the second qualifying spot. On the first playoff hole, Venable made an impressive up-and-down, which included a left-handed chip shot, to make par and solidify the second qualifying spot.

Laura Coble is the first alternate. Jenna Wylie of Pooler, G.A. is the second alternate.

Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

Qualifying is conducted over 18 holes at 28 locations around the United States and Mexico. The championship proper will be held at Quail Creek Country Club in Naples, Fla. on October 7-12, 2017.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers.
