Preview: 17th Dogwood State Junior Girls' Championship

 

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (June 27, 2021) -- The Carolinas Golf Association will conduct the 17th Dogwood State Junior Girls’ Championship at Kinston Country Club in Kinston, N.C. from June 29-July 1, 2021. The field will compete at 6,037 yards (36-35--71).

Established in the early 1920’s, Kinston Country Club has become a landmark for the area. The beautifully designed Ellis Maples golf course has played host to a plethora of golf tournaments in its history, and is one of the premier Country Club’s Lenoir County. Kinston Country Club also features immaculate Bermuda fairways, and Championship Bermuda Grass Greens and offers a great test of golf to golfers of every skill level.  

 

The championship is conducted at 54 holes of stroke play competition. There is only one division in this championship. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer under the age of 19 as of July 1, 2021, who has not started college, has a legal residence in North Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
