Online Auction Raises $68,000 For Carolinas Golf

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (December 18, 2017) -- The Carolinas Golf Foundation generated $68,584.25 during its annual online auction held over the past two weeks. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the auction will support golf-based initiatives in the Carolinas. These programs include Youth On Course, turfgrass research, junior golf, women's golf, First Tee chapters, and startup high school golf teams. With over 370 individual bidders, this year’s auction raised nearly $24,000 more than the 2016 auction.

“This proves what a caring golf community we have in the Carolinas - both from those who offered prizes to those who made a financial commitment to purchase the items,” says Carolinas Golf Association Executive Director Jack Nance. “These funds will be used to support various Carolinas-based golf initiatives including junior golf, turfgrass, and our new program, Youth on Course."

Auction items ranged from autographed Arnold Palmer memorabilia to vacation rentals, to foursomes and stay-and-play packages at some of the Carolinas' top golf destinations. All the auction items were generously donated by charitable donors, golf courses, and corporations.
