Kim & Carson Share Vicki DiSantis Lead

Winds swirled Saturday at Pine Island Country Club, making club selection difficult for the field of 86 players.
Gina Kim of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Kathryn Carson of Mooresville, N.C. share the lead entering Sunday's final round after posting one-over-par 73.
Kim, the 2014 N.C. Junior Girls' Player of the Year, made birdie putts of 36 and 18 feet. The 16-year-old high school sophomore is currently ranked 2nd among N.C. junior girls. She won the 2015 NCHSAA 3A state championship and finished tied for ninth in the U.S. Junior Girls’ Amateur.
Carson, a high school junior who is ranked 9th in NC, claimed the 2015 N.C. 4A Western Regional. Living just 30 minutes from the course, Carson is familiar with Pine Island's layout. A wedge shot to three feet on the tenth hole of her round led to her lone birdie.
2014 Carolinas Junior Girls' champion Jessica Spicer of Bahama, N.C. is one shot back at 2-over-par. Spicer, a high school senior, will play collegiately at Virginia Tech in the fall.
2015 N.C. Junior Girls' Player of the Year Jennifer Chang of Cary, N.C. and Taylor Hinson of Belmont, N.C., ranked 27th in NC, are tied for 4th at 3-over 75.
Defending champion Emily Cox of Lancaster, S.C. struggled Saturday, shooting 9-over. Cox, who has verbally committed to play golf at Southern Mississippi, is currently T-38.
The final round will be at 8:00am with all players beginning play from the 1st and 10th tees. Tee times & Pairings
The Vicki DiSantis Girls' Championship is 36 holes of stroke play. Entry is open to any female amateur golfer ages 12 to 18 as of May 7, 2016, who has not started college, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, and is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)
The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers.
