Jennifer Chang of Cary, NC shot a final round of even par 72 for a two-day total of 143 to win back to back titles in the Jimmy Anderson Girls’ Junior Invitational at Jacksonville CC in Jacksonville, NC. “I hit the ball really well this weekend, but did miss a few short putts this week” stated Chang. Emilia Migliaccio of Cary, NC shot one over par 73 for a two-day total of 146 to place second and Killian Casson of Greenville, NC 2015) shot six over par 78 78 for a two-day total of 151 to finish in third. Caroline Curtis of Glen Allen, VA and Rhea Bhatia of Wake Forest tied for fourth with two day totals of 154.
The tournament is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association and the Peggy Kirk Bell Girls’ tour to honor Jimmy Anderson, the former head golf professional at Jacksonville Country Club, for his many years of dedication to junior golf. Each Saturday morning, Anderson conducted a junior golf clinic to help spread the game of golf to the next generation. During his tenure at Jacksonville CC, he taught many juniors including numerous future collegiate and golf professionals. Not only did he teach the game of golf, but was always there with a helpful word of encouragement to any young golfer.
