Round 1 Results
After the first round of the 58th Carolinas Junior Girls’ Championship, Jessica Spicer of Bahama, NC and Kendall Dobbins of Summerfield, NC are a top of the leader board following round of three over par 75. Spicer and Dobbins, both rising high school juniors, have a one shot advantage over Alaina Yeatts of Durham, NC and Amy Wooten of Clinton, NC.
Spicer got off to a slow start on the Donald Ross designed course at Hope Valley CC in Durham, NC making the turn from the front side at three over par 39, but settled her game shooting an even par 36 on the back side and finished with a 75. Dobbins also got off to a slow start with a 40 on the front, but birdied two of her last three holes for a one under 35 on the back side and a round of 75.
This annual junior girls’ championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
