US Amateur Sectional Qualfying Results from Benvenue Country Club

ROCKY MOUNT, NC – Final results from U.S. Amateur Championship sectional qualifying hosted by Benvenue Country Club in Rocky Mount, NC on Monday, July 21, 2014 (6555 yards, par 36-36—72, Rating: 71.8/137).
 
Three qualifying spots and two alternate positions are available at this qualifying site.
 
Caleb Sturgeon from Laurens, SC shot a two round total of 13-under 131 to earn medalist honors. Huntersville, NC native Patrick Cover fired a 9-under 135 to also qualify.  Thomas Bradshaw (136) and Beau Cutts (136) played off for the last qualifying position. Bradshaw won the playoff and the final qualifying position on the first hole with a par.
 
The United States Amateur Championship will be played August 11-17 at Atlanta Athletic Club in Atlanta, Georgia.
 
This qualifier is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.
