Smith shots 67 for medalist award in 18th NC Junior Boys' 13 and Under Championship

   
Fulton Smith of Pinehurst, NC claimed the medalist award in the 18^th NC Junior Boys’ 13 and Under Championship with a round of three under par 67 on the Donald Ross designed Asheboro City Golf Course.  Smith got off to a slow start with a double bogey on his fifth hole and made the turn in even par 35.  On the back side, Smith made three birdies, six pars and no bogeys to finish with his 67.  Grayson Wotnosky of Wake Forest, NC finished five shot back with a 72.  Defending Champion Akshay Bhatia of Wake Forest joined the top 15 from the qualifier in the championship flight for match play that began Monday afternoon.
