Parrott, Tindal and the Bonneys Lead the Carolinas Mixed Team

 

ISLE OF PALMS, S.C. (August 21, 2021) -- First round results of the 16th Carolinas Mixed Team Championship at the Links Course at Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, S.C. on August 21, 2021.


Today the field played the Links Course. The Championship Men’s Division played the black tees (6,503 yards), the Championship Women’s Division, Tournament, Senior and Super Senior Men’s Divisions played the gold tees (5,458 yards), and the Tournament, Senior and Super Senior Women’s Divisions played the silver tees (4,708 yards) (36-34--70).


Tomorrow the field will play the Harbor Course. The Championship Men’s Division will play the black tees (6,359 yards), the Tournament, Senior and Super Senior Men’s Divisions will play the white/gold tees (5,460 yards), the Championship Women’s Division will play the gold tees (5,117 yards), and the Tournament, Senior and Super Senior Women’s Division will play the red tees (4,689 yards) (36-34--70).

Amanda and Thomas Bonney of Greensboro, N.C. are tied for the lead with Jodee Tindal of Rock Hill, S.C. and Jack Parrott of Columbia, S.C. after carding opening rounds of 5-under-par, 65. The Bonneys made an outstanding seven birdies today at in the four-ball round at the Links Course. Tindal and Parrott fired off five birdies and an eagle on the par-5, No. 14.


Katie Kirk and Andrew Flaskerud of Charlotte, N.C. hold solo third position at 3-under-par, 67 just two strokes off the lead entering the final round. The defending champions Emily Rapp of Greenville, S.C. and Jeremy Moore of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. are tied for fourth position at 1-under-par, 69 with Jaelyn Skinner and Alex Finke of Rock Hill, S.C. 


Pam Prescott of Piedmont, S.C. and David League of Travelers Rest, S.C. are tied for the Tournament Division lead along with Karen Sennett of Stanley, N.C. and Marcus Munse of Columbia, S.C. at 2-under-par, 68. Kerry and Frank Rutan of Daniel Island, S.C. lead the Senior Division by two strokes at 7-under-par, 63. Rosie and Mike Johnson of Clayton, N.C. lead the Super Senior Division at 4-over-par, 74.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)


The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
