Preview: 65th Carolinas Junior Girls' Championship

 

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (July 19, 2020) -- The Carolinas Golf Association will conduct the 65th Carolinas Junior Girls’ Championship at Cherokee National Golf Club, in Gaffney, S.C. from July 20-22, 2021. The field will compete at 6,104 yards (36-36--72).

Cherokee National Golf Club is located in the town of Gaffney. The golf course boasts a Jay Porter Gibson and Russell Breeden design, with the front nine being more open while the back is lined with trees. A good ball striking day at Cherokee National can lead to plenty of birdie opportunities.

 

The championship format is 54 holes of stroke play competition. There is only one division in this championship. 

 

Entry is open to any female amateur golfer who is under the age of 19 as of July 22, 2021, who has not started college, maintains a residence in North Carolina or South Carolina, is a member in good standing of a club which is a member of the Carolinas Golf Association and has an active GHIN® USGA Handicap Index®.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGF has distributed nearly $2,000,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
