The field will play the Vintage-Chester routing of Mount Vintage’s three 9-hole courses this week. The Vintage nine course was the back nine of Mount Vintage’s original 18 holes. Elevation changes dramatically come into play on this course with a downhill or uphill shot of at least 30 feet on eight of the nine holes. This is a thinking player’s course with arguably the most breathtaking views of the three nines at Mount Vintage. The Chester nine course features rolling fairways, well-guarded greens, and challenging putting courses which contributes to the highest rating of Mount Vintage’s three nines. Both courses utilize Champion G12 Bermuda greens and Bermuda 419 fairways.

The South Carolina Amateur Match Play Championship is conducted at 36 holes of stroke play. After 36 holes, the field is cut to the low 32 players for match play. Five rounds of match play determines the champion. Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who is a legal resident of South Carolina and at least 13 years old.

A Carolinas Amateur Championship qualifier is held in conjunction with round one of the SC Amateur Match Play on June 16, 2021. Players may compete in both events as long as they have registered for both events. Those who are successful in qualifying for the Carolinas Amateur will be charged an additional championship entry fee for the Carolinas Amateur Championship.
