Things were looking grim for the Carolinas Team after a morning sweep by the Virginias Team in the four-ball matches. Every four-ball match on Saturday morning on CCNC’s Dogwood course went the distance, finishing on the 18th green in favor of the Virginias Team. The Carolinas Team needed a surge in the afternoon foursome matches and they were able to do so, claiming three of the four available points.

At the end of play on Saturday, the Virginias Team leads the Carolinas Team, five points to three. Our players will return to CCNC’s Cardinal Course on Sunday where eight total points are up for grabs in the singles matches. The Carolinas Junior Team leads all-time in these matches, 19-16-2. Of the 10 previous playings of these matches at CCNC, the Carolinas Junior Team has won seven times and tied once.
