57th Carolinas Senior Am Preview
SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (October 30, 2018) -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) will conduct the 57th Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek in Johns Island, S.C. from October 31-November 2. Precisely designed and skillfully maintained, the Rees Jones masterpiece embraces the rich, low country landscape and vegetation of Johns Island and the Kiawah River.
The Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship is conducted at 54 holes of stroke play. After 36 holes, there is a cut to the low 60 scores and ties. Entry is open to any male amateur golfer who has reached his 55th birthday by the first day of the championship, is a legal resident of North Carolina or South Carolina, and is a member in good standing of a member club of the Carolinas Golf Association.

In last year's championship hosted by Grandfather Golf & Country Club, Preston Edmondson of Morrisville, N.C. captured his third Carolinas Golf Association championship by coming from behind to defend the title.
This year, Edmondson will look to become the first player since Dale Morey (1970, 1971 and 1972) to win the Carolinas Senior Amateur Championship title three years in a row.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)
The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.
