NC Senior Four-Ball Second Round Results

DURHAM, N.C. (August 15, 2018) – Second round results from the 18th North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship hosted by Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. (6610 yards, par 36-36--72).

After sharing the lead overnight only to see themselves two strokes behind after the completion of round one, the team of Patrick Brady and Steve Harwell fired a consecutive round seven-under par 65 to sit two shots clear of the field at 14-under par 130 total. After the completion of the first round, the team of Gary Hull and Randall Sullins birdied there final two holes in the morning and held the lead with a nine-under par 63. They followed that up with three-under par 69 for a 12-under par total of 132. Sitting tied for second with Hull and Sullins is the team of Johnny Elam and Kelly Stimart, they will be paired in the final group Thursday after a seven-under par 65 left them at 12-under par total of 132.

Brady and Harwell are familiar partners. They were college teammates at Guilford College in the mid-1980s. “I’ve learned when to crack the whip on my horse,” Harwell joked about Brady. When asked what they will do differently with the lead, they said nothing. “The lead isn’t too big so we will keep trying to make birdies,” Brady said.

Old Chatham is the host club for the 2019 US Senior Amateur Championship that is scheduled to be played in August 2019.

Defending champions, Nolan Mills, III and Robby Kirby are in a tie for 9^th place at five-under par 139.

The cut line ended up at two-under par 142. 32 team made the cut to play the final round Thursday. The leaders tee off at 9:17am off #1.
