Inspired by a rolling piece of farmland in the mid 1960s, golf course architect Charles M. Mahannah created Pine Island as a course every golfer would enjoy. His vision of a course that requires proficiency, reverence, and thought has continued through the years as it is continually upgraded, redesigned and maintained. The course sits on Long Creek which, combined with the beautiful landscape, provides a sense of serenity on every hole. This will be Pine Island's second time hosting the North Carolina Junior Boys' Championship.

The championship will consist of 18 holes of stroke play qualifying followed by match play (6 rounds). The field will be cut to the low 63 for match play.
