Final Results US Open Local Q River Landing

WALLACE, NC– Final results from U.S. Open Championship Local Qualifying hosted by River Landing Country Club (River) in Wallace, NC on Friday, May 11, 2018 (6,911yards, par 36-36—72).

 

Five qualifying spots were available at River Landing Country Club for sectional qualifying of the 118th U.S. Open Championship.  Thomas Owen of Fayetteville, NC, Benjamin Shipp of Duluth, GA, Chad McCann of Wilmington, NC and Easton Paxton of Riverton, WY shared the medalist award with rounds of four under par 68.  Christian Salzer of Sumter, SC claimed the final qualifying spot on the sixth playoff hole.

 

Matt Vick of Pinehurst, NC will be the first alternate. Corey Gallagher of Roanoke, VA will be the second alternate.

 

These five players will advance to U.S. Open sectional qualifying, conducted over 36 holes, which will be held on Monday, June 4, at 10 sites in the U.S. and one in Europe. Japan will host international sectional qualifying on May 21.  The 118th U.S. Open Championship will be played on June 11-17, 2018 at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, NY.
