Wednesday's semifinal matches were as much a stamina and mental fortitude as they were a test of golf under intense weather conditions. Temperatures did not climb above 45 degrees and a light drizzle fell over the course for most of the day. No. 1 seed Cowan's Ford Country Club of Lake Norman, N.C. outlasted their Charlotte neighbors Carmel Country Club to advance to the match play final. The sides of Peg Brady - Peggy Lea and Kathy Binkley - June Wang each took 10 of the 18 available points to combine for a club team total of 20 points, four more than Carmel. On the other side of the bracket, Pinehurst Country Club defeated Pinehurst neighbors Pinewild Country Club. The Pinehurst side of Donna Tanner - Sue McDermott took 10.5 of the 18 available points and Kendra Muir - Sally Means followed suit, securing 10 points and the Pinehurst win with a combined 20.5 points. No. 3 seed Pinehurst Country Club will face No. 1 seed Cowan's Ford Country Club in the final match on Thursday.

The top-four clubs from Tuesday's stroke play qualifying round advanced to the match play semifinals of the Carolinas Women's Club Team Championship to compete for the inaugural title. Semifinal four-ball matches were worth 18 points (one point per hole). At the end of each four-ball match, points from both two-player sides of the club team were added together. The club team with the most points advanced to the final match on Thursday. The two losing clubs were placed in a consolation flight. Point totals will not carry over to Thursday; each club team will start with zero points in the final match.

After the first day of round robin four-ball match play in the First Flight, Rock Barn Golf & Spa A and Pinewood Country Club are tied for the lead with a point total of 21 points. In the First Flight, point totals from Wednesday will be added to point totals from Thursday to determine the First Flight winner. Each club team will play the other two club teams in 18-point four-ball matches over two days of competition.
