2017 Carolinas Golf Night Set for February 11th

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. (January 9, 2017) -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) has announced that the 2017 CGA Annual Meeting, Carolinas Golf Night, and Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 11th at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.

The events will be held at Knollwood Hall, located adjacent to Carolinas Golf House. Cocktails and appetizers will be served at 6:00pm followed by dinner, annual meeting, and awards at 7:00pm. The CGA Annual Meeting covers the order of business as required by the association's bylaws. Carolinas Golf Night will honor 2016 CGA champions, Players of the Year, and special guests. For the first time Carolinas Golf Night will include the Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame induction ceremony. John Gerring of Greenville, S.C. and Willie McRae of Pinehurst, N.C. will become the 73rd and 74th members inducted.

The event is open to any individual who is a member or employee of a Carolinas Golf Association member club. Cost is $100.00 per person including golf on Pinewild Country Club's Holly Course, cocktails, dinner and meeting or $50.00 per person for dinner only including cocktails, dinner and meeting. Dress is semi-formal. Coat and tie for men; comparable women's wear.

Golf at Pinewild Country Club is available only to Carolinas Golf Night attendees. Golf space is limited with priority given to special guests and on a first-come, first-served basis.

The CGA will hold a silent auction during the evening with proceeds benefiting the Carolinas Golf Foundation. Auction items include golf packages, collegiate gear and autographed sports memorabilia. Credit cards (MC, Visa, Disc) and checks will be accepted.

Schedule of Events:
10:00am - Golf shotgun start at Pinewild Country Club (Holly)
6:00pm - Cocktails
7:00pm - Dinner, Carolinas Golf Night, and Carolinas Golf Hall of Fame Induction

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.

The CGA annually conducts 43 championships and five team match competitions for men, women, juniors, and seniors. It also runs over 140 One-Day (net and gross) events and qualifying for USGA national championships. The CGF has distributed more than $1,500,000 since 1977 to benefit Carolinas' golf initiatives including junior and women's programs.
