U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifying Results
from Governors Club in Chapel Hill, NC

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (June 12, 2017) -- Final results from U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifying at Governors Club in Chapel Hill, N.C. on June 12, 2017 (6508 yards, par 36-36--72, Course/Slope rating: 78.8/146).

South Carolinian Natalie Srinivasan (Spartanburg, S.C.) earned medalist and low amateur honors after posting two sub-par rounds of 70-71 to finish with a 3-under-par showing of 141. Lauren Stephenson of Lexington, S.C. sunk a three-foot birdie putt on the second playoff hole to defeat recently-turned-professional Katelyn Dambaugh of Goose Creek, S.C. and claim the second qualifying spot. Stephenson and Dambaugh each finished with two-under-par 142.

Katelyn Dambaugh is the first alternate. Kelly Whaley of Cromwell, C.T. is the second alternate.

Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.

Sectional qualifying is conducted over 36 holes at 25 locations around the world. The championship proper will be held at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, N.J. on July 13-16, 2017.

This qualifier was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association on behalf of the United States Golf Association.

About the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA)

The CGA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization that was founded in 1909 to promote and to protect the game of golf in the Carolinas by providing competitions, education, support and benefits to golf clubs and golfers. The CGA is the second largest golf association in the country with over 700 member clubs represented by nearly 150,000 individuals.
