CGA Members in U.S. Junior Amateurs

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- (July 18, 2016) Nineteen Carolinas junior golfers are competing this week at the U.S. Junior Amateur championships conducted by the United States Golf Association.

 

U.S. Junior Girls'

The 68th U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship will be played July 18-23 at The Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, N.J. The championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play on July 18 and 19, after which the field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. There will then be six rounds of match play, starting Wednesday, July 20. The championship is scheduled to conclude with a 36-hole final on Saturday, July 23. Championship website

In last year's championship at Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., Emily Cox advanced to match play Round of 64 and Gina Kim reached the Round of 16.

U.S. Junior

The 69th U.S. Junior Amateur Championship will be play July 18-23 at The Honors Course in Ooltewah, Tenn. The championship consists of 36 holes of stroke play on July 18 and 19, after which the 156-player field will be reduced to the low 64 scorers. There will be six rounds of match play starting July 20. The quarterfinals and semifinals are slated for Friday, July 22. The championship is scheduled to conclude with a 36-hole final on Saturday, July 23. Championship website

In last year's championship at Colleton River Plantation Club in Bluffton, S.C., Andrew Orishak reached the final match before losing in extra holes.
