US Senior Open Qualifying Results

THOMASVILLE, NC – Final results from U.S. Senior Open Championship Sectional Qualifying hosted by Colonial Country Club in Thomasville, NC on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 (6623 yards, par 36-35—71, Course/Slope Rating: 71.8/125).
Two qualifying spots and two alternate positions were available at this qualifying site.
Greg Parker of Marion, NC earned medalist honors by shooting a five-under par 66 and earned the first qualifying spot. The second qualifying spot was earned by Gus Ulrich of Whispering Pines, NC firing a two-under par 69.
There was a three-way playoff at one-under par 70 for the first and second alternate positions. Steve Ford of Melbourne, FL defeated Neal Lancaster of Smithfield, NC and low amateur Brian Westveer of Charlotte, NC on the second playoff hole to claim the first alternate position. Lancaster is second alternate.
Parker and Ulrich will be competing in the U.S. Senior Open Championship that will be played at Scioto Country Club in Columbus, OH August 11-14, 2016.
