Liebler Named Asst. Dir. of Junior Golf

SOUTHERN PINES, N.C. -- The Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) is pleased to announce the hiring of Chase Liebler as Assistant Director of Junior Golf. Liebler, who resides in Pinehurst, N.C., will oversee the Tarheel Youth Golf Association (TYGA), assist CGA Director of Junior Golf Jason Cox with junior championships, and expand the popular TYGA Tots program, a series of events for boys and girls aged five to twelve. Chase's father, Steve, was the CGA's first Director of Junior Golf in 1995. 

“The CGA is excited about having a person with Chase’s credentials and his passion for junior golf come and help the CGA grow the game in the Carolinas,” stated Cox.

"I can't wait to get started with TYGA and the CGA! I am looking forward to giving the junior golfers of North Carolina the opportunity to grow their golf games by providing first class events in which to compete," said Chase. "This will give them a chance to learn a lot about themselves as an athlete and as a person.”

Chase Liebler graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Sports and Entertainment Management in 2011. A three-year member of the golf team, in 2012 he was the P.J. Boatwright, Jr. intern for the Golf Association of Philadelphia involved in tournament preparation, setup and management. The following year, Liebler was hired for his current position as the Tournament Office Coordinator with Pinehurst Resort. There he annually worked over 50 tournament days, including the prestigious North & South Amateur Championships for men, women, juniors and seniors.  

Liebler will begin his position with the Carolinas Golf Association on October 26, 2015.
