EXEMPTIONS FROM SECTIONAL QUALIFYING

Players in the following categories are exempt from sectional qualifying if otherwise eligible. A complete list of exempt players is available on the CGA website.

1. Champions of the North Carolina Amateur Match Play since 2010.

2. Champions of the Carolinas Amateur since 2003.

3. Champions of the North Carolina Amateur since 2008.

4. Champions of the North Carolina Mid-Amateur since 2008.

5. Champions of the Carolinas Mid-Amateur since 2008.

6. 2012 Dogwood State Junior champion.

7. 2012 Carolinas Senior Amateur champion.

8. 2013 North Carolina Senior Amateur champion.

9. 2013 North Carolina Junior Boys champion.

10. 2012 Carolinas Junior Boys champion.

11. Players who advanced to match play at 2012 North Carolina Amateur Match Play.

12. 2012 Carolinas Men’s Player of the Year.

13. 2012 Carolinas Senior Men’s Player of the Year.

14. 2012 Carolinas Junior Boys Player of the Year.

15. Players ranked in the Top 20 of the CGA Carolinas Men's Amateur Rankings as of the entry opening date.  

16. USGA individual champions since 2008.

17. 2012 USGA Championship qualifiers who advanced to match play at the amateur championships, finished top-100 at the U.S. Senior Open or advanced to the U.S. Open Championship proper.

18. Most recent Walker Cup team members.

19. One exemption for championship host club. Entry must be received by entry closing date.

20. Special exemption bestowed by the CGA.
