FLORENCE, S.C.-- Cliff Cunningham of Monroe, NC and Bobby Clark of Asheville, NC fired a second round 66 to win the 30th Carolinas Senior Four-Ball Championship at Florence Country Club in Florence, South Carolina by one shot over Jerry Smith of Pinehurst, NC and Buddy Baker of Florence, SC.
Cunningham and Clark put the five-under par total on top of a first round 68 on the par 71, 6,300 yard layout.
Cunningham, who is the four-time reigning North Carolina Senior Champion and the current USGA Senior Amateur Champion reached the winner's circle in this event for the third time, teaming with Bob Murray of Piedmont, SC in 1992 and 1993. Clark, however, helped bring home the title with three birdies in the last six holes.
This championship was conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
