Camden, SC-- Qualifying medalists Gus Sylvan of Columbia, SC and Steve Liebler of Irmo, SC defeated Jim Hillard and Greg Hardison of Greenville, NC in the finals of the 47th Carolinas Four-Ball Championship at Camden Country Club in Camden, SC. Sylvan and Liebler, who played together for the first time in this event, won by a 2 and 1 margin over the first-timers, Hillard and Hardison. Sylvan's birdies on three, eight, twelve, and thirteen helped them to a 3 up lead going into the final five holes. The winning pair made bogey on fourteen to close the margin to two, but Hardison and Hillard couldn't convert birdie chances in the closing holes to narrow the gap any further.

This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
