Final Results

Lake Lure, NC -- Final results of the 14th Carolinas Women's Senior Amateur Championship hosted by Rumbling Bald Resort, Apple Valley, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.  Par 36-36--72 5600 yards. 

Pat Brogden of Garner, NC captured her third Carolinas Women's Senior Amateur Championship title by two strokes over Angela Stewart of Greenville, NC.  This win gives Brogden her eighth CGA championship crown.  Brogden carded three birdies on the day, even bouncing back and making a birdie on the tricky par 4 11th after making a triple bogey on the par 4 10th hole.  "My ball was just inches out side the stakes but with out of bounds its either in or its out and my ball was definitely out," Brogden laughed.  "I was pretty sure that my one bad swing could have just cost me the tournament," Pat said.   Luckily, Brogden bounced back and was able to stick her approach shot to within 10 inches on the par 4 11th hole and was able to convert another birdie for the day.  "I don't usually like mountain courses, but this one started to grow on me." 

Defending champion Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC finished four strokes back in third place.

In the tournament division Suzanne Moro of Myrtle Beach, SC shot an 80--157 to win by one stroke over Super Senior Champion, Peggy Lea of Denver, NC.  This division plays a shorter course.

Players were pre-flighted based handicap index within their chosen division.
