Championship Match Final Results

Camden, SC – Clemson golfing teammates Will Ovenden of Spartanburg, SC and Corbin Mills of Easley, SC defeated Scott Harvey of Greensboro, NC and Patrick Brady of Reidsville, NC, 3 and 2 to win the Carolinas Four-Ball Championship at Camden Country Club.

Both teams struggled all day as the only birdies came on the par-5 14th when they halved with fours.

Ovenden and Mills, who are freshmen at Clemson, gained as much as a 4-up lead at the turn after shooting an even-par 34.  Harvey and Brady cut the lead on 10 with a par. It was their only win of the day.

Ovenden and Mills were two of six Clemson golfers who competed in the event.

“We all had a break from school and thought it would be nice to come play in it,” commented Mills.  “So a bunch came down.”

“This course just is not as easy as it seems,” said Ovenden.  “But it is so much fun to play.”

This is the second consecutive year that the Harvey-Brady team have finished runner-up. It is the fourth time to the finals for Brady (who played with Mike Goodes twice) who is still winless.

This event is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
