Columbia, SC – Final results of the 11th Carolinas Women’s Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Forest Lake Club in Columbia, SC on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 (par 36-36-72, 5656 yards, Rating 73.1/127).

Pat Brogden of Garner, NC wins her first Carolinas Senior Women's Amateur Championship in a 2-hole sudden death playoff against defending champion Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC. Brogden had a two stroke lead after the outward nine but after hitting her ball into the bunker and failing to get up and down on the par-3 18th in regulation she found herself tied with Moore. Both players made par on the par-5 10th. Brogden then made a six foot putt for par and the win on the 11th. "I knew my position with Patty (Moore) all day. I played pretty steady for the most part but I didn't putt that well," Brogden said. "I knew I had to make that putt on 18 to win but it just didn't drop." Brogden now holds four CGA Championship titles. She won the North Carolina Women's Senior Championship in 2007, the Carolinas Women's Amateur Match Play Championship in 1999 and she was part of a team that won the Carolinas Women's Four-Ball Championship back in 1991.

In the tournament tee division, Brenda Bauer of Columbia, SC won by one stroke over Frankie Garber of Florence, SC. These players play a shorter course. The Super Senior prize went to Isabelle Daley of Whispering Pines, NC.

All players were placed into flights for the final round.
