Day 2 Results

Pinehurst, NC – The North Carolina professionals dealt another blow to the North Carolina amateurs with a convincing win in the Tar Heel Cup matches at Pinewild Country Club’s Magnolia course, 21 ½ - 14 ½.

The event is scored at Nassau match play with up to three points available in each match. Points are scored with one point available each on the front nine, back nine and overall 18 holes. Eight North Carolina professionals representing the Carolinas PGA (CPGA) compete against North Carolina amateurs representing the Carolinas Golf Association (CGA) in Four Ball and Singles Match Play.

Heading into the final round tied, the professionals increased their lead to five points with a strong front nine in the singles matches. The amateurs failed to respond losing two more points on the inward nine and overall 18 holes.

The record stands at 12-2 with the professionals dominating the series.

The event is conducted jointly by the Carolinas Golf Association and Carolinas PGA
