Hickory, NC – Final round results of the 5th North Carolina Women’s Senior Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Lake Hickory Country Club (Catawba Springs: Dogwood-Fox Run) in Hickory, NC on Tuesday, October 7, 2008 (5516 yards, par 36-36—72).
Patty Moore of Charlotte wins her second North Carolina Women’s Senior title after a final round even par 72 to finish six strokes ahead of Melissa Sage of Charlotte. Moore, the 2007 Carolinas Women’s and Senior Women’s player of the year, was the only player to break par during the championship.
Clate Aydlett of Elizabeth City garnered to Super Senior title with a two-day total of 164.
Defending champion Pat Brogden of Garner withdrew due to an injury during the second round.
Players were flighted based upon round one scores for the final round.
The North Carolina Women’s Senior Championship is open to female golfers age 50 and over who are residents of North Carolina and a member of a CGA member club.
This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
