Final Round Results
Spartanburg, SC -- Final round results of the 9th Carolinas Women's Senior Amateur Championship hosted by the Country Club of Spartanburg in Spartanburg, SC on April 17-18, 2007. Par 35-38--73, 5610 yards.
Defending champion, Patty Moore of Charlotte, NC now holds four Carolinas Women's Senior titles. While Moore had a hard day, shooting an 81, she still was able to fend off fellow competitors to win the championship by four shots. "I think trying to defend a title can add a little extra pressure to your round. I take all my wins pretty seriously and I am excited to be able to win another senior championship title," Moore said. Moore looks forward to another championship season and is still working hard on her game to keep her competitive edge. Runner-up Melissa Sage also of Charlotte, NC fired a 79 which actually was the best round of the day. After the first round players were put into flights based on score.
Ginger Lash of Pinehurst, NC won the Super Senior division. The Super Senior Division plays a shorter course.
This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
