Final Round Results
Morganton, NC – Final round results of the 7th North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship hosted by Mimosa Hills Golf and Country Club in Morganton, NC on Wednesday, August 9, 2007 (6493 yards, par 36-36—72).
Logan Jackson of Winston Salem, NC and David Strawn of Charlotte, NC fired a final round eight-under par 64--192 to win the championship by one-stroke over Ron Carpenter of Durham, NC and Ernie Newton of High Point, NC. Newton and Carpenter posted a ten-under par 62—193 to make a run at the title.
“We did not have a five or higher on our score card for 54 holes”, stated Jackson. “We are very proud of that accomplishment”.
Defending champions Bob Desjardins of Matthews, NC and Bill Boles of Wilson, NC shot a final round three-under par 69--196 to finish alone in third place.
The North Carolina Senior Four-Ball Championship is open to male amateur golfers over the age of 55 who are legal residents of North Carolina and are a member of a CGA member club.
This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
