MADISON, NC-- Larry Boswell of Jamestown and Ronnie Grove of Raleigh fired a team aggregate score of one over par 145 in the final round to win the North Carolina Senior Partners championship at Deep Springs Country Club in Madison, NC by 7 shots over three teams. Rainy conditions plagued the field during the first two rounds, which utilized three different formats in the 72-hole event. The field played Four-Ball on Tuesday and modified alternate shot on Wednesday.
Boswell and Grove's victory is their second Carolinas Golf Association senior team event championship of 2002. In April, the pair combined to win the Carolinas Senior Four-Ball championship at the Country Club of South Carolina in Florence, SC.
Defending champions Cliff Cunningham of Monroe and Bob Clark of Asheville finished in a three way tie for second at 292.
This championship is conducted by the Carolinas Golf Association.
