TOPIC:                   2012 U.S. Seniors Women’s Amateur Sectional Qualifying Player Information

Starting Time

Please check the enclosed pairing sheet for your starting time on Monday, August 13.  Play will begin from the 1st tee. Remember that sectional qualifying is 18 holes.  Players are allowed to rent and ride in carts for the qualifying round.  Caddies must walk at all times.  You are responsible for providing your own caddie.  Caddies will NOT be available at Bentwinds Golf & Country Club. Players may have to share carts during the qualifying round.

USGA Policies

The USGA prohibits the use of cellular phones during qualifying and championship rounds.  Also, the USGA does not allow spectator carts during qualifying rounds or the championship proper.  If you have spectators please make sure they understand they have to walk at all times during the qualifying round.  Electronic Measuring Devices are not allowed.

Course Rating: 73.7/135 (5735 yards, par 72)

Locker Room: Players will have access to the women's restroom located in the golf shop.

Dress Code: Shirts must have collars, shorts are allowed but must be Bermuda length, and no denim. Policy is for both players and caddy/cart drivers.

Practice Round/Cart Fees/Food and Beverage

You are entitled to one practice round (not including cart fee) on any day that times are available. You may call the Bentwinds golf shop one week prior to schedule a practice round tee time. Make sure to identify yourself as a U.S. Senior Women's Amateur Championship qualifying participant. It would be helpful if you make your own game before calling.

There is a mandatory $25.00 cart/range fee for the practice round.  Cart fee on August 13 is $25.00 or there is a $5.00 range fee for those players not requiring a cart. Make sure to check-in with the golf shop when you arrive and pay your appropriate fees!  Bentwinds G & CC only accepts MC/VISA/Discover for Golf shop or food and beverage purchases.  No cash.

Lodging

Lodging is available at the Hampton Inn and Suites – Holly Springs. Located at 1516 Ralph Stephens Road Holly Springs,  NC  27540.  Hotel is approximately 4 miles from Bentwinds Golf and Country Club.   There is no special rate.

Qualifying Spots

4 qualifying spots and 2 alternate positions. There are 19 competitors in the field.  

Qualifying Schedule

Sunday, August 12             Official practice round. Must call golf shop in advance to schedule a tee time.

Monday, August 13            Qualifying round: 18 holes of stroke play. Playoffs for qualifying spots and alternates immediately following play.

Pace of Play Policy

A player who is discovered taking more than 40 seconds is subject to a warning and will be so advised.  The player will be notified that exceeding 40 seconds on one more occasion will result in a penalty of one stroke.  A third violation will result in a two-stroke penalty, followed by disqualification. A player’s time to play begins when she has had a reasonable opportunity to reach her ball and when it is the player’s turn to play and can do so without interference or distraction.  Penalties are applied individually, but more than one competitor in a group may be penalized.
