The Carolinas-Virginias Women’s Team Matches were originated in 1957.
The matches pit some of the best women from around the Carolinas against their Virginia and West Virginia counterparts.
The traditions of good golf, respectful sportsmanship, and great friendships are reflected in these competitions. Just to be asked if you are available to play is a source of pride to women golfers throughout the Carolinas.
Eligibility: Invitation only. Team members qualify by their finish in various championships held throughout the Carolinas, Rankings and Captain’s Picks.
Format: Day 1: Four-Ball Match Play. Day 2: Modified Alternate Shot. Day 3: Four-Ball Match Play The matches include 24 players from NC and SC and include three age categories: Regular; Senior (6) and Super Senior (2). A point is scored for winning the outward half, the inward nine and the overall match.
Winner: 108 points available. Carolinas needs 54 points to retain the cup. Virginias needs 54 1/2 points to win the cup.
